Founded in 2015 by Fahari Wambura, Fahari Bazaar is rooted in a desire to create meaningful, sustainable opportunities for women artisans in Tanzania. Based between Chatham, New York and East Africa, the brand designs clothing using hand-dyed fabrics and sources exceptional handmade goods—like Iringa baskets—directly from the women who make them.

Fahari’s vision is deeply personal. Inspired by her mother and the strength of the women she grew up around, she channels her work into a way of honoring their labor, sacrifice, and resilience. Through this marketplace, she builds lasting connections—supporting skilled craftsmanship and preserving the spirit of care and community that raised her.
