Collection: Injiri
Injiri, meaning "real India," was founded in 2009 by Chinar Farooqui to celebrate the art of hand-weaving and sustainable textile practices. Inspired by her upbringing in Rajasthan and her studies in Fine Arts and Textile Design, Chinar’s passion for traditional crafts grew through her travels to regions like Ladakh, Chanderi, and Kachchh, where she connected directly with local artisans. This deepened her appreciation for the stories, hands, and histories behind each textile, leading her to work on projects like reviving organic lac-dyeing techniques with master weavers.
Injiri’s designs are rooted in collaboration with India’s weaving communities, combining traditional craftsmanship with a subtle, modern aesthetic. Each piece—whether clothing or home textiles—is carefully crafted, often featuring hand-painted or hand-printed details that make it unique. Drawing inspiration from antique garments and ethnic patterns, Injiri’s collections honor the time and skill of the maker, focusing on quality, sustainability, and individuality. Today, the brand’s thoughtful designs can be found in stores worldwide, reflecting a quiet elegance that is both timeless and deeply rooted in heritage.
