Rooted in the Austronesian folk craft traditions, Kamaro’an seamlessly blends ancient weaving techniques with modern craftsmanship. The name, meaning "stay and live" in the Pangcah tribes, reflects the brand’s dedication to preserving cultural heritage. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted by Pangcah artisans, weaving the threads of tradition and innovation into timeless, meaningful designs.
Kamaro’an operates two studios in Taiwan, each dedicated to preserving and sharing their craft. Kamaro’an House in Taipei serves as a hub for showcasing their work, offering literature on craft and culture, and providing product maintenance and repair services. Visitors can meet artisans like Nacu and Sawmah, who introduce the craft processes firsthand. In Hualien, the studio focuses on natural dyeing and weaving with umbrella sedge. Located on Taiwan’s eastern coast, Hualien is home to the Pangcah tribes and the natural materials integral to Kamaro’an’s creations. Together, these studios honor the brand’s commitment to heritage and sustainability.
